Life abroad isn't always peachy - Tacha shares personal struggles of Nigerians in the UK

Reality TV personality and social media influencer Tacha Akide has drawn attention to the plight of Nigerians residing in the UK due to her observation about their financial difficulties.

The former BBNaija housemate, who is now based in the UK, recently made a video in which she expressed her belief that, contrary to popular belief, many Nigerians living overseas do not have stable financial situations.

Many Nigerians in the UK are barely surviving, according to Tacha, and some are even living less comfortably than their Nigerian counterparts.

This is mainly because of the high expense of living in the UK, which goes against popular notion.

Considering the increasing cost of living in the UK, Tacha went on to say that many Nigerians are really doing better than their foreign counterparts.

While you think everyone in Nigeria is wealthy, the reality is that the majority of people here are struggling to make ends meet.

The individuals I've met in the UK are the poorest I've ever encountered. Everyone is keeping their cool. The price is high.

Believe me when I say that things are not great for residents here. Indeed, the majority of Nigerians are enjoying a higher standard of living than their actual counterparts.

So, go ahead and move if you so desire, but do not do it with the attitude of "oh, it's all rosy." A day in a cab will cost you 300,000, and a week in a car will cost you 1,000,000, assuming you don't want to take the train. "Consider your choice," she said.

Her comments have ignited a lively discussion on social media, with other users offering their perspectives on the differences between living abroad and the expectations of people back home.

Below, GROWING2GETHER7 has included a selection of responses:

She is speaking the truth to the fullest," @oluchiafundu commented.

"Anyone you see in UK walking and doing content as a track nation first is a JJC, body still dey sweet them, secondly they have not found a real purpose," @okunenyeife said.

Someone mentioned that since Tacha came to the UK, there has been no word.

"They have basic amenities but are broke," @e.f.e.m.e.n.a_kylian wrote. You can't hold it up against us, who are still yelling "UP NEPA."

"It's no surprise my uncle lived there for 25 years without experiencing anything noteworthy," @godwinrealest remarked.

Who needs quality of life when you have money, according to @joyaustin4743. How does the quality of living in Nigeria compare to others who have so much money?
