One of Nigeria's most famous musicians, Mayorkun, has claimed that Sony Music Africa signed him after he was aided to land the agreement by his former record label boss, Davido.
The 2016 signing of Mayorkun to the Davido Music World (DMW) record label was reported by the GROWING2GETHER7. The year 2021 marked his departure from the label.
It was widely believed that their relationship was strained after he left David's label for Sony Music West Africa.
But the singer revealed that Davido was instrumental in striking the contract with his new record label when speaking to 3Music TV.
I am currently signed to Sony Africa in addition to my label. Bravo to Davido for that too; he was instrumental in arranging the transaction, as Mayorkun put it.
