For the murder of his cousin, American musician Silento received a 30-year prison sentence.
The musician, who was 27 years old at the time of sentencing, admitted to aggravated assault and handgun possession.
Silento admitted to shooting and killing his 34-year-old relative Frederick Rooks III in 2021, according to the GROWING2GETHER7.
Rooks was discovered on January 21, 2021, with several gunshot wounds, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.
According to the investigation, the dead was last seen in a white BMW SUV with Silento before the musician was arrested.
Minutes subsequent to the gunshots, a neighbor's home surveillance film saw the identical white BMW SUV rapidly escaping the scene of the crime.
In response to Silento's detention, his public relations manager Chanel Hudson issued a statement in which she asserted that the rapper "has been suffering from series of mental health illnesses for the past several years".
Just before the incident, in August of 2020, the rapper was accused of attacking two individuals in their home with a hatchet, leading to two counts of assault charges.
It was in 2019 when Silento made the following statement: "I have been fighting demons my whole life" in an interview with the medical discussion show.
These demons, I don't know if they will ever leave.
