According to Salisu Yusuf, the technical adviser for Nasarawa United, the team nearly lost the match against Lobi Stars due to exhaustion.
Defeating Lobi Stars 2-1 at Enugu's Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Wednesday, the Solid Miners rallied from a goal down.
Nasarawa United equalized after an early goal by Japhet Kundushima thanks to goals from Shina Kumater and Anas Yusuf.
Yusuf conceded that his team had a tough time in the match.
You know, it was a really tough game. After the game, Yusuf explained that his team's performance was negatively impacted since they were a touch sluggish, particularly in the first twenty minutes.
The journey from Gombe to Benin City and finally to Enugu left every member of the party exhausted and overwhelmed.
Despite this, we admonished the team at halftime to reevaluate their condition and figure out how to get back on track, especially with the league season winding down.
"Thank goodness we received two immediate replies early after the break when we asked them to demonstrate desire, hunger, and passion to alter the game's rhythm."
