Prior to the 2025 Club World Cup, FIFA modifies transfer regulations

On Thursday, FIFA approved temporary transfer regulations to facilitate player trades in advance of the 2022 Club World Cup in the United States in June and July.

Players whose contracts are up for renewal on June 30, 2025, will be able to join any of the 32 clubs as free agents thanks to this change.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and PSG are all part of this group.

Assuming teams reach an agreement, players would have two weeks beginning in the middle of June before their official contract ends to play for a new team according to FIFA transfer rules.

Reason being, the tournament is considered to be a part of this season even if it has already ended.

On the other hand, throughout the 12-stadium tournament, players cannot play for more than one club.
