Nigeria can no longer count Kevin Schade as one of their players

As of right now, Kevin Schade, a forward for Bentford, cannot represent Nigeria in international competition.

Schade had previously played in Monday's UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands, when he earned his cap.

Schade has officially been named to the Die Mannschaft after playing in Germany's match against the Netherlands at the Allianz Arena.

Consequently, the forward for Brentford will not be able to play for Nigeria again.

The son of Nigerian and German parents, Schade came into this world in Potsdam, Germany.

The 22-year-old could have played for his father's native Nigeria before being cap-tied to Germany.

After Eintracht Frankfurt defender Robin Koch withdrew from the squad owing to a hip injury he suffered in the previous game before the international break, Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann handed Schade a late call-up to replace Koch.

Schade was still eligible to switch to Nigeria despite playing in three matches for Germany before being called up for the UEFA Nations League matches in October.

Nevertheless, Schade was officially cap-tied to his native nation after replacing Aleksandar Pavlović in the 77th minute of a 1-0 win against the Netherlands.

This occurred after he was not used off the bench in Germany's 2-1 triumph against Bosnia-Herzegovina last Friday.
