Nigeria will never improve, according to famous comic Basketmouth.
This became clear when the comedian expressed his displeasure with the country's leadership and the present economic climate.
Basketmouth mentioned the depreciation of the naira and increasing inflation from 1970 to the present in an interview that went viral with AFRIMMA.
"Nothing can be done, quote me anywhere," he stated in a video that went viral. Let that sink in.
There was one naira to one dollar when I was born in 1970, but now there is a N1600 to 1 dollar exchange rate.
Once the dollar fell in 1970, it never recovered to its original value. Never before has it occurred.
Whenever something changes, everyone will be saying, "E go better, E go better." It's growing worse all the time.
I need to know the policies. Then what did they do? The new 100-page passport comes with a price tag of N100,000.
I had the impression that our government intentionally set out to inflict pain on the Nigerian people.
"So that when they're down, they'll want to japa, and then they'll raise the passport price to make more money," the actor said.Still, I hold out hope that things will improve for our nation someday; I certainly haven't given up hope just yet.
May we all hold fast to that utopian ideal. He mentioned with a hint of sarcasm that it was over.
