According to Emanuele Calaio, a former striker for Napoli, Antonio Conte opted for Romelu Lukaku over Victor Osimhen because of the leadership skills exhibited by the Belgian.
The former Serie A winners hired Conte as their manager in the summer.
He immediately decided to bench Osimhen from his first team.
Even though Chelsea and Saudi Arabia were interested in Osimhen, he ended up joining Galatasaray on loan for a season.
The Belgian was apparently selected by Conte for his leadership and locker room skills, even if Osimhen is physically stronger than Lukaku, according to Calaio's comments as reported by Napoli Magazine.
What did he do to Monza? Have you seen it? You could see him motivating and directing his colleagues every time you turned on the TV.
