With Begiristain out of the picture, Guardiola's future is much more uncertain.
Guardiola is committed to the team until the conclusion of the current season, but he has been mum about what happens beyond the summer.
In 2022, Begiristain was instrumental in the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, in addition to appointing Guardiola.
From their time together at Barcelona, Begiristain and Guardiola became close friends.
