EPL: Pat Nevin calls on Maresca to play two Chelsea stars more often, saying he'll show everyone they're mistaken

Pat Nevin, a former Chelsea player, has asked Enzo Maresca, the club manager, to give Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Joao Felix more playing time.

If given the chance, Felix, according to Nevin, would show his naysayers they were wrong.

Both players, in his view, are talented enough to earn greater playing time for Chelsea.

Last summer, the two players—one from Atletico Madrid and the other from Leicester City—came to Stamford Bridge.

After spending half a season on loan with Chelsea in 2023, Felix—a Portugal international—came back for a second spell.

Reportedly valued at £46.3 million, the Portuguese inked a seven-year deal. Reportedly paying £30 million, Dewsbury-Hall joined.

The manager has largely used both players in cup games and the UEFA Europa Conference League, thus they haven't gotten much playing time this season.

"I am an enormous admirer of Joao Felix," Pat Nevin recently told Metro. A lot of people have written him off, but you shouldn't.

When the first team needs cover for Cole Palmer, he should get more playing time. It's clear he'll show everyone they're mistaken.

Dewsbury-Hall, for example, is fantastic; he is a truly exceptional player; and he has not even played a game yet. Adding, "He proved it in the Conference League a few weeks ago, and he definitely needs more opportunities soon."
